The Construction Industry NEEDS MORE Content
The Construction Industry Needs More Content
Yes, you read that right. More social media content. More blog content. More video content. More podcast content. More website content. MORE CONTENT. Why?
Labor shortage: The construction industry faces a labor shortage, and content can be used to highlight the opportunities available in the industry and attract new workers.
Attract younger talent: The average age of a construction worker is 42, and many workers will be retiring in the next decade. Content can be used to dispel misconceptions about the industry and attract younger workers.
Dispell the misconceptions of the industry: Many people believe that a college degree is required to be successful. Content can be used to show that there are many great opportunities in the industry for people with all levels of education and experience.
Show the incredible aspects of construction: Construction is a challenging but rewarding industry. Content can be used to show the people, projects, and impact of the industry.
More content is the key to addressing the construction industry’s labor shortage, attracting younger talent, dispelling misconceptions, and showcasing the incredible aspects of the industry. The more people know about construction and the opportunities it offers, the more likely they are to consider a career in the field.
How Will Construction Marketers Accomplish This Future Reality?
The construction industry is a vital part of our economy, but it’s also one of the least understood. Many people don’t know much about what construction workers do or how construction projects work. That’s where construction content comes in.
The Construction Marketers community will help you:
- Create more content: Construction Marketers will provide contractors with tips, insights, interviews, and proven strategies for creating more content.
- Celebrate and highlight existing contractors: Construction Marketers will celebrate and highlight contractors creating content successfully. This can inspire other contractors to start creating content as well.
- Build a community: Construction Marketers will build a community for anyone in construction who is interested in learning how to improve their marketing and bring more awareness to our industry.
Who Am I and Why Should You Listen to Me?
My name is Jonathan Cor, and I run a social media marketing agency called Customer Growth that helps commercial contractors build their online presence. I was also formerly an in-house marketer for a commercial contractor in Washington State. I live and breathe construction and marketing. But here’s the thing: I don’t claim to know it all, but I want to take you all on a journey of what I’ve learned up to this point. And what I continue to learn along the way!
